Really a fascinating film. Edward Norton plays a guy in NYC who's been convicted of a crime and has to report to jail in 24 hours. So he's spending the last night of freedom with his buddies. But the silent partner of the film is 9/11, the movie was filmed maybe 6 months after the towers fell, and it permeates the film. Probably the only fictional movie that uses the real scenery as a backdrop. One of the characters has an apartment overlooking Ground Zero, and another's father owns a Firefighter bar... one that is quite literally a ghosttown because most of its clientele are dead---or the survivors can't bring themselves to go there anymore. Nobody ever mentions it, but all the characters in the film are haunted by its shadow. Powerful movie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
