After the giant melting popsicle fiasco, I thought it was time to give Italian "cultural incomprehensibility" some play... Here, for example, is a "gumball"-style machine outside of a bar/pizzeria on the Lido island (Venice, Italy)which inexplicably sells ladies' underwear. I've never seen anything like it before!! (Although who hasn't thought at one time or another that having something like that around wouldn't be handy?!)
