Interesting review from the Washington Post... Hopefully the book's accuracy is all that it's claimed to be!!

When I went in the library today, this book was on a New Arrival pedestal, so I nabbed it...

I finished that IN THE COMPANY OF THE COURTESAN novel. I thought it was a pretty entertaining read. Basically the misadventures of a prostitute and her dwarf majordomo in 1520s-1530s Venice. Interesting historic details, like the periodic bridge battles between Arsenale workers and Venetian fisherman.
